Becoming an election worker
Who qualifies to be an election worker?
To be considered to serve as an election worker in Wyandotte County, you must be:
A resident of Wyandotte County
A registered voter (except in the case of student election workers under the age of 18)
Available to work at least 14 consecutive hours on Election Day, beginning at 6 a.m.

Election worker duties vary by the position you are assigned to work in the polling place. As a team of workers, you will be responsible for: Greeting voters as they enter and exit, checking voters in and obtaining signatures on the electronic poll book, operating voting machines, issuing ballots to eligible voters, providing voting instructions to voters, providing assistance to voters at their request, and setting up and taking down voting booths and equipment.

Yes! We value your time and service to your community. We couldn't run an election without workers. Compensation begins at $9.01 an hour for training and time worked on Election Day.
